What do we do

At HSBC we not only talk about Digital Transformation, we “walk the talk.”We will be where our customers want us to be: on their phones, on WeChat, through a digitally enabled mobile sales force. This transformation is happening globally but nowhere faster than in China, as we target to grow and offer services to China customers who increasingly travel, shop, educate and do business globally.

We are investing heavily in our internet and mobile banking channels.  Increasingly our customers are demanding more innovative ways to access our services, which offer greater convenience but the same level of security that they have come to expect.

We are looking for experienced, qualified digital professionals to help us meet this demand. We need candidates like you who have strong analytical skills and are focused on the needs of customers. We are now recruiting passionate and driven individuals to join this dynamic team of DIGITAL.

In HSBC, we have reconfigured and continue to improve our mobile and online banking platforms to provide foundational blocks from which to expand. We have launched a mobile app that works across 27 markets, our new online banking platform underpins our digital plans, we have a robust pipeline of features in development and we are investing in a digitally-led growth plan for the Pearl River Delta.

What to expect

We’re looking for the future leaders of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, specialized in digital area. You will need to be forward-thinking, innovative, open to different ideas and cultures and enjoy being part of a team. Most importantly, we are also expecting a spirit of entrepreneurship from you.

On the graduate programme you’ll complete five rotations during 24 months, in following two areas:

Firstly, Business componentsto understand how RBWM operates, how the Bank makes money and process of business. The design is to provide the fundamentals of Banking and RBWM business.

Secondly, Digital area, these would be specific placements in Digital to learn how the organisation operates and process of work and delivery. Mostly this would be in areas of our Digital Centre of Excellence or a specific Digital Product group.

The outcome for the Digital Graduate is a role in Digital. We see this as a feeder pipeline of talent to build this business and enhance our delivery capability in that area.

Learning and development

We offer a high-quality learning and development programme. It starts with our global induction event, Global Graduate Discovery, which will take place in London in August 2017 for all graduates joining our global businesses. The three-day interactive event will provide you with an overview of HSBC as well as an opportunity to network with your 2017 global graduate peer group and colleagues in the business.

After Global Graduate Discovery, you will join the Introduction to Retail Banking and Wealth Management event with your global peer group.

During the programme you’ll develop core technical and leadership capabilities. You will work in an open, collaborative environment that values learning. There will also be the opportunity to study for professional qualifications. We are here to support your development but as a forward-thinking, motivated individual it will be up to you to drive it.You will be assigned a mentor and buddy, who will give you advice and share ideas. You will also draw on the knowledge of experienced colleagues around you. We'll encourage you to build your network of contacts, which will be invaluable as your HSBC career unfolds.

Career paths
Our Digital team delivers experience in both a customer-facing role and a specialist function. On completion of this programme, you'll move into a more specialized area, for eg, business and technology area, digital product area, commercialisation, or market development area. The speed of your progression will depend on your performance and experience in successive roles and the quality of your HSBC networks.

Application Criteria
Eligibility requirements: 3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent. Able to legally work in Mainland China, in possession of a valid graduation certificate and successfully gone through required vetting degree equivalent

Additional language/s: Fluent in a local language – verbal and written

Preferred major: IT, engineering, or business area.
